"Sweet Grown-up Kisses" is a suggested subtitle translation from @fkeroge, who worked on the previous visual novel in this arc.

Scripts: http://www.mediafire.com/?o8lbsb18xdb3t1g

Use a text editor to open these UTF files.

Style guide used in past translations:
Stuttering is recorded with one letter each.
Keep the case of the first letter throughout each stutter.
Six dots maximum in groups of three, except in long transitions.
Use past tense to describe events that are happening and present tense to state facts or thoughts.
No second person narration.
Avoid stock translations: "It can't be helped", "As expected of...", etc.
― for trailing off or truncation.
~ or extra letters for extension.
Connect words by ellipses ... only if they're part of the same sentence. Separate by a space otherwise.
Do not strictly follow original punctuation if it makes the translation awkward to read.
Ignore all of the above for vocalizations.
The full name of the school is "St. Michael's School For Girls". The short name is "St. Michael's".
Runa refers to Takako as "Sensei" rather than her given name.
Runa refers to her older sister as "Nee-sama".

http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx/ and http://www.nihongoresources.com/dictionaries/onomatopoeia.html are listed in the wiki as references for onomatopoeia. The most common reason given for their low popularity is the controversial nature of their relationship in Western eyes, but this has not been an impediment to the success of products featuring them.

I would rather you focus on the more important task of the ending graphics for Lily Platinum.

If you'd like to decensor event graphics after the fact, it can be done for all prior visual novels as well. If you are willing to put forward the effort, I could in theory produce optional graphic patches using your decensored image data, but there are possible infringement issues with doing this. I'd like Saluki's opinion on this before I consider this.

>> No.2063

I'd totally agree, wouldn't the ending graphics for Lily Platinum be finished sometime tonight as well.
And since I'm no translator there's nothing left for me to focus on.

I wouldn't mind decensoring the older VNs. Shouldn't take me more than two weeks once motivation kicks in again^^.

I'll upload a sample a little later so you can see whether the quality of my work is worth dicussing the matter ...

Over time I found quite a few translation sites/tools which -combined- gave me usable translations.
Yesterday I tried a few lines from SH and the results were surprisingly close to the translations in the wiki.

[ When I translate anime subs from english to german I often use machine translations of japanese subs as reference... which speeds up the process a lot.]

So I was wondering if some of the translators would find having a -refined- machine translation usefull ...

... cause this would open up a new way for me to contribute to SH9-xx

@ AXYPB! & Saluki

I'm ready to upload the end credit graphics for SH9+10.
But since Platinum uses two censored event CGs for the end credits I'd like to know whether you've already discussed the use of decensored graphics or not ...

>> No.2097

>>2089
We still have not yet discussed anything yet.

If you have time, I would like for you to edit the credit graphic sr02 for each of the first eight visual novels. For those translations, I recreated the ending images wholesale by copying the matching event images and matching the color changes as closely as possible as this was less effort than removing the text directly for me. However, I was not able to do this for the first images in each credit sequence, which are closeups that I cannot accurately reproduce.

So I'm giving this my best shot (been studying Japanese by myself for 4~ years now) and I'd just like some input on some phrases that I honestly haven't heard before.

「こうやって弄ると、相性バッチリ、愛は永遠なんですって」

I translate that as something along the lines of "If I touch you like this, it fits just right (just right compatilibity?), they say love is forever."

I know I'm headed in the wrong direction here so could someone with more experience explain that phrase a bit?

I am... miraculously done. Somehow. Well, at least with a very liberal definition of "done". @fkeroge will probably come after my head after seeing all the TLC requests I put in.

This was pretty fun, actually, since the script is actually pretty damn good. Probably why I never dropped it even though I stalled for months at a time.

The funny thing is, I only meant to occasionally work on this so that when a "real" translator came, he wouldn't have as much work to do. Obviously that real translator never came, leaving me scratching my head and finally getting around to finishing this in one go. Amusingly, my first few scripts are noticeably more awkward to read. Looks like I improved a bit too while translating this. I should probably go over them again, but I'm too exhausted... Oh well. I'll see what @fkeroge has to say.

I meant that no official artwork depicts pubic hair on any of the characters, even on the most minimally censored graphics. As reconstructing the censored regions is already a time-consuming task, adding additional details should be secondary to it, possibly as a variant.

There is a glitch in chapter 8. The line at <10140> makes a reference to a voice file that does not exist, which causes the program to throw a non-fatal error. The file name in the script that is being referred to is misspelled, but my attempts at hacking the MSD file to point to the correct name only caused different, fatal errors. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the name of the voice file in question in the VOICE archive itself. I have released a beta translation MSD at Cray's Notes.
http://axypb.net/2014/07/02/sweet-grown-kisses-beta-english-translation/

This MSD contains the translation as of 2 July 2014. Ralen did additional translation checking for this release. This patch will be available for one week, after which a release candidate will be issued if no bug reports are submitted.

>> No.3964

For those concerned about the status of this patch, I have hesitated on updating it until I receive a fix for the bug mentioned in >>3808. However, it appears that I will not be able to address it in a timely manner. As I have also not received any reports for script corrections or suggestions, and that work on Rikka-Sayuki Theater has concluded, I will begin work on a proper release candidate with graphics patches over the next few days. The final translation patch will leave the bug in place as we are unable to correct it, but should this ever change, a new version will be released as soon as possible.

>> No.3967

I've looked into the bug a bit. Problem is, if you change it to the correct filename (which is one character less) it'll shift all the offsets in the script after that line, causing the crash. And there's no way of fixing it without actually understanding the encryption they employed here.

Best thing I could do was this:
http://uqc.me/qfyde

Overwrite S008 in the Japanese MSD with this and then patch with the English script. What this does is referencing one of Takako's generic moans instead. Doesn't fix the original problem but it will at least get rid of the error message and it's hardly the first time voice clips get mixed up in those games.

>> No.3968

Nevermind, this bothered me and finding the correct offsets was easier than I thought.

http://uqc.me/bokmh

Replace the original S008 in the Japanese MSD file and not only will it not throw an error, it will also play the correct voice clip.

A small change in the translation script is required for it to compile:

- <10140> 「ん、う……んっ、ぁ……ぅ、おまんこ感じちゃう」=「Nn, uu... nn, aau, my pussy feels good...」

change to:

- <1013F> ・uん、う……んっ、ぁ……ぅ、おまんこ感じちゃう」=「Nn, uu... nn, aau, my pussy feels good...」

I have tried this and various other methods to change the file being referenced to no avail. I would also prefer, if possible, a blank dummy file be referenced instead of a voice from a different character.

Additionally, your link returns error 403.

Excellent work. I've produced an MSD with this fix merged in and uploaded it to the wiki. The text is otherwise unchanged.

For convenience, I've also uploaded the original Japanese MSD with the fix.

While I was inserting text into the ending credits, I noticed that the copy of sr02 I received from NaAaF has very different colors from the original (see >>2893). I will try to correct this in the final release, but if possible, I would like for NaAaF to post the PSD used in the creation of the clean image.

I added Phyis as a patching credit.

This is the first proper release candidate of the complete patch. I would still like to correct the colors for >>4029 before final release. Please test the graphics in this package and ensure none of them have been missed.

Many, many, many thanks.
By the way, are you going to finish Lily Platinum now, before Maidens of Michael?
Maidens of Michael seems to be quite a large project, but Lily Platinum has 110 comments or so, so I assume that it's nearing its completion.
